CampusStay Terms of Service

CampusStay has three parts for university students in Ghana: Accommodation (find and book hostel rooms), the Marketplace (products, services and rentals from other students and local businesses) and News (campus announcements). CampusStay is a platform that connects people. Hostel managers, sellers, service providers and rental hosts run their own listings, and they are responsible for them.

You must give true information, keep your password private, and look after your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. One person should have one account. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using yours.

Hostels and listings are posted by the people who run them. We review listings and may remove them, but we cannot promise that every listing is accurate. Hostel bookings follow the terms shown when you book, including the price, what is included and the booking and cancellation rules.

• For products, we hold your payment until the sale is done. The seller is paid after you give them your handover code (or confirm delivery). Read Buyer protection & refunds for the deadlines, cancellations and refunds.
• For services and rentals, you pay CampusStay a small fee to unlock the provider's or host's contact details and chat for a limited time. You then agree the price and pay the provider or host directly. If they do not reply in the app within 48 hours, you can ask for the unlock fee back.
• Sellers, providers, hosts and agents must follow the rules they are shown when they join. You must not sell banned or illegal items, and you must not share phone numbers or take deals out of the app to avoid CampusStay's fees or protections.

Payments are processed by Paystack, in Ghana cedis, by card or mobile money. We charge fees such as a commission on product sales, contact-unlock fees and listing fees; the amount is shown before you pay. Refunds are made the way the buyer protection rules describe. If a refund cannot be sent automatically, an admin will send it by hand. Sellers and agents who earn money ask us to pay out their earnings, and we pay them to the mobile money or bank account they gave us.

If you pay to promote a product, service, rental or hostel, the payment is not refunded. Once you pay, your promotion runs for the days you chose. If you pause or stop it after it has started, no money comes back. If an admin removes your promotion because you broke the rules, no money comes back for the days left. A promotion you have not paid for yet can still be cancelled, because nothing was charged. We show this before you pay and ask you to tick a box to say you understand.

• Be honest and respectful. No harassment, threats, hate, scams or impersonation.
• Do not post anything illegal, harmful, or that you do not have the right to share.
• Do not try to break, overload or get around CampusStay, or use another person's account.
• Do not make fake reviews, fake orders or fake reports.

If someone breaks these rules we may remove content, give a warning, hold earnings while we look into it, or suspend or close an account. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to suspension. If you are suspended or turned down, you can appeal in the app and an admin will look at it.

You keep ownership of what you post, but you allow CampusStay to show it as part of the service (for example your listing, review or comment). Chat messages may be looked at by an admin if there is a report or a dispute. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.

We work to keep CampusStay running and safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. CampusStay is not a party to the deals between users apart from holding and paying out the money as described, so to the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for the quality, safety or legality of what other users offer, or for losses beyond what these rules and the buyer protection rules provide for. Nothing here limits any right you have under the law that cannot be limited.

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email. You can stop using CampusStay at any time; to close your account, email us. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana.
